It’s almost my #Birthday and I am all about one thing: LOVE.
It happens to be the most uplifting feeling making all other unpositive ones worth experiencing. It is my choice of drug. And tastes better than alcohol or any form of unnecessary gambling.

Today, I am sharing a song from an artist I was infatuated with when I was a teenager. They called him, because of his style, the Michael Jackson of the Caribbean: Jean-Michel Rotin.

This song accurately describes where we all stand when we still have self-esteem while entering a heartfelt relationship. There is this line that automatically kick back in and keep us in check! No matter how cute or great the other person was.

Sé lè ou lov ou ka padoné – It’s when you are in Love, you forgive
Tout’ érrè ki ka fèt ka eskisé – Any mistakes done is justified
pé pa rété faché – You cannot stay mad
mèm lè ou bléssé – even when you are hurt
Ou pé léssé tout’ é sakrifié – You can leave everything and sacrifice
sa ki sètin pou sa ou pa savé – what is for sure, it’s for what you do not know
dan lèspwa kè lanmou kè toujou diré – in hope that Love will always last
ouh yeah! – Oh yeah!
tou sa bien vré – All this is great
mé fo pa pon moun kwè – but no one should think
kè yo ké abizé, é si on jou – that they can abuse you, and if one day
ou découvè, kè tou sa sé té jé – you discover that all this was just a game
la haine ké installé – hatred will set in

sé lè ou lov ou ka bay enlo – it’s when you are in Love you give a lot
oublié tou sa ki té défo – forgetting all the shortcoming
é bay on bouké flè chak fwa kè ou vwè’y – and giving bouquet of flowers every time tou see him/her
lè i di’w je t’aime ou ka palpité – when he/she tell you “I love you”, your heart is beating fast
kè aw enflé é lang aw mélé – your heart is exploding and your mouth is getting dry
ou pè kè apren’ tout la vérité – you will not find out all the truth
ouh yeah! – Oh yeah!

si’w ka ainmé – If you are in Love
fo ou toujou sètin dè’w – you should always be sure of yourself
é pa pè di dé mo ka ba’w enlo – and not say words that give too much
si ou ni sanglo – if tears start falling
sé kè ou avoué’y – then you are admitting
kè ou toujou ainmé’y – that you are still in Love
lè ouououou ou lov – when you Love
ou tou pré mwen, en bra en mwen – you are close to me, in my arm
en la – I am here
lè ouououou ou lov – when you Love
ou tou pré mwen, en bra en mwen – you are close to me, in my arm

sé pou tchenbé mwen an bra séré – You have to hold me tight in my arm
men aw an do an mwen byen plaké – your hand is in my back well comfortable
raproché ou pou nou pé sa myé dansé – get closer so we can dance better
si tout fwa ou ja ni asé – and if you are fed up
di mwen franchman é nou ké kasé – tell me straight away so we can break up
oh non oh non non non non – on no, oh no, oh no
viré – come back
sa ka rivé – it happens
menm lè ou cajoley – even when you have intimacy
oh si lonten ki sa – for such a long time
lè ouououou ou lov – when you Love
ou tou pré mwen, en bra en mwen – you are close to me, in my arm
en la – I am here
lè ouououou ou lov – when you Love
ou tou pré mwen, en bra en mwen – you are close to me, in my arm
en la – I am here
lov lov hum hum hum hum – Love
lov lov hum hum hum hum – Love
