Bacon Pie

This delicious "pie" (are we using the right word in English?) is a healthy afternoon snack or party starter.
You can change the bacon with Prawns, Seafood, Spinach ... and anything you fancy.
Once you understand the principle of it, sky is the limit!

Servings: 8 people
  • 1 Ready Made Pastry Unless you want to start from scratch
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 20 cl Crème Fraîche 2 big sppon
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 onions
  • 100 g Grated Cheese Emmental
  • 200 g Smoked Bacon Lardons
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 10 g butter
This is How I Do
  1. a. Wash off the bacons under cold water to remove the excess salt
    b. In a fryer pan, grill the bacons without any oil until golden
    c. cut the onions in thin slices and fry it in butter in very low eat until soften

  2. In a bowl, mix eggs, crème fraiche, salt, pepper and milk

  3. Add to the mixture bacons, onions and half of the grated cheese.
    Stir well for an even filling

  4. Spread your ready made pastry into your baking pan and stab it with a fork.
    Just think about your ex!

  5. Pre-heat the oven at 200° or gas mark 6
    You can use the back of your fork to style the side of your pastry.
    Pour the filling and sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes
