Kalawang or Mango Salad

This is a very appreciated French Guianese delicacy. It's served especially during festivities like the Carnival, Dancing, Parties ... Children enjoy it all through the day, particularly if the family has a mango tree in the garden.

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 slice Hot Pepper Scotch Bonnet
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1 pinch Brown Sugar
  • 1 piece Garlic Optional
This is How I Do
  1. Peel mango's skin with a knife.

    - Use a grater if the mango is well green
    - Cut in thin slice if the mango is slightly yellow and soft

  2. Add Ingredients in the above order.

    Mix well in a bowl.

  3. Set aside for 30 minutes.
